In 1978 the USPS issued Se-Tenant of four stamps to highlight trees native to the U.S. and was issued during the annual convention of the American Forestry Association. The stamps picture the giant Sequoia, one of the tallest and oldest trees, the eastern white pine, the white oak, and the grey birch.
